Altan Ozdemir (Oz) – Personal Trainer and Ex-Rugby Player

As an ex-professional sportsman, my career has involved all aspects of fitness, nutrition, strength and conditioning. My background has principally been in the sport of Rugby Union, starting in 1994 when I played for Bristol, before moving to Harlequins in 1996, and then onto Bedford in 1999. After a spell with Leeds from 2000 to 2002, I played for Exeter Chiefs, until 2005 when I moved on to play with the Championship side, Plymouth Albion.

My passion is in training and making positive changes to people’s lives. I love working with people and my aim is to make sure that you achieve your ultimate goal with a smile on your face, through laughter…and pain!

I’ve been training from a very young age and have experienced all it’s high and lows. I have amassed a huge amount of experience of proven training, conditioning and nutritional methods. I am now able to use this knowledge to help you to achieve your goals.

Hi my name is Altan Ozdemir (oz) I’m the owner of one 2 one fitness and lifestyle.

I wanted to set up an environment where we can train and look after our clients effectively in a wide range of fitness templates including strength, power, speed endurance, strength endurance, weight loss management , saq, hand eye coordination and boxing.

I also wanted to create a unique space where the focus is solely on the client no other people in the gym, no waiting for equipment, no distractions, which in my humble opinion makes for a better product

I have genuinely had the best job in the world for last 12 years, working one on one with and helping people live healthier lives getting stronger and making better choices.

I enjoy the variety of working with people for 10 plus years to working with people for 12 weeks. I’m passionate about strength training and the incredible benefits that come with it for everybody from 70-year-old grandmothers to 18-year-old rugby players.

However I find all training is valuable and working together with my clients to put together that jigsaw puzzle to help someone move forward is always my top priority.

From working with people with debilitating injuries to consulting for Olympians and directly training national sailing champions. I have a wealth of experience that I use to further peoples training in whatever environment they find themselves in.

I’m also qualified in GP referral, allowing me to work alongside medical professionals. Qualified in pre-and post natal exercise, allowing me to work through and after pregnancy. I’m also qualified in sports nutrition.

As 50% owner and manager of one-to-one fitness and lifestyle I am directly aware that we need to provide the greatest possible service for our clients. This is a role that I take very seriously.

James is a coach who doesn't just look at how he can train you, but how he can help change your lifestyle to make you a better and healthier you. Someone who not only takes care of how he plans the sessions, but how he educates who he trains to help them make changes to their lives to enable positive outcomes. He is also someone who has before, found gyms an intimidating place, so can emphasise with many who feel the same and knows how to build that all important gym confidence.

Having trained and worked as a strength and conditioning coach in America, and then following that up with Personal Training back here in Exeter, James has a large skill and knowledge base to help a wide range of clientele. Whether that is in weight loss, nutritional advice, strength training, body building, injury rehabilitation or sports performance... James is confident that he can help anyone achieve what they set out too.

I’m the founder of Realisation Works; a small coaching business focusing on clients having their own sense of clarity, resilience and innate wellbeing.

Are you a parent feeling overwhelmed or do you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing? Do you feel not heard? Would you like have some space to be listened to and helped to find your own answers, which you always have when you have the head-space to hear them?

As a Clarity Coach I share an Inside/Out understanding, guiding my clients to a space of seeing who they really are. The principles behind this understanding are a description of the human experience; not a prescription of strategies and tools to ‘fix’ them. When we can step back and see our world differently, we open to who we truly are; we can see for ourselves the current confusion, assumptions and emotions that feel like a trap.

We’ll tailor the programme to fit in with your lifestyle, giving you tips and regimes to do at home and work, to keep up and better the work you do whilst you’re here in our studio.
